R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The fifth-grade students of Cedar Creek Elementary School are indeed fortunate to have four dedicated teachers to encourage and inspire them in their studies; and WHEREAS, Debra Lee Bridges, who has taught at Cedar Creek for 11 years, makes the classroom environment challenging yet fun for her students, who no doubt appreciate both her patience and sense of humor; Ms. Bridges truly enjoys her young charges, whether she is helping them with class work or making snowflakes to hang from the ceiling in winter; and WHEREAS, Mark A. Webber has taught for 20 years, although 2005 marks his first year at Cedar Creek; his teaching style draws from his intellectual approach to life and promotes a classroom atmosphere in which students are encouraged to assert their ideas and opinions; Mr. Webber has been described by one of his students as "funny, with a heart as big as Texas"; and WHEREAS, Laura Kristine Richard dreamed as a child of becoming an air force pilot, but today she flies high as a teacher, following in the footsteps of several of her relatives and loving the path she chose; a second-year teacher, Ms. Richard is highly effective at structuring her classroom while being creative and playful with her students; and WHEREAS, Denise Marie Reyna Krepps has taught for a decade at Cedar Creek and has been named the 2004-2005 Teacher of the Year; she is highly regarded by her students for the sense of humor, kindness, and devotion she shows them as she prepares them to meet the challenges that lie ahead in the sixth grade; and WHEREAS, These talented educators have given their students a strong foundation on which to build as they begin their education at the middle-school level, and they may take great pride in the positive difference they have made in the lives of their students; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby honor Debra Lee Bridges, Mark A. Webber, Laura Kristine Richard, and Denise Marie Reyna Krepps for their exceptional commitment to their profession and their students and commend them for a job well done; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for each teacher as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
