H.R. No. 1438



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Monica Saenz has been named the 2005 Young Engineer 
of the Year by the Society of Women Engineers--Houston Area, and she 
is truly deserving of special recognition; and
	WHEREAS, The society's prestigious accolade pays tribute to 
individuals who early in their careers make significant 
contributions to the engineering community and are involved in 
professional organizations and civic activities; and
	WHEREAS, An alumna of The University of Texas at El Paso, from 
which she earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Ms. 
Saenz is employed with ExxonMobil Pipeline Company as a senior 
engineer; she began her tenure with the company in 1997 as a plant 
engineer, and today she supervises work teams of the engineering 
specialists group; and
	WHEREAS, Monica Saenz has achieved notable success in her 
profession, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring her at this 
time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Monica Saenz on being named the 
2005 Young Engineer of the Year by the Society of Women 
Engineers--Houston Area and extend to her best wishes for a 
prosperous future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Saenz as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
