R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Ana Stephens was recognized for her contributions to 
St. Joseph Catholic School in Edinburg when she was given the SPIRIT 
AWARD for the 2004-2005 school year; and
	WHEREAS, A longtime educator, Ms. Stephens worked for the 
Diocese of Brownsville from 1968 to 1972, when she taught Spanish 
and art at Sacred Heart School in Edinburg; she taught from 1974 to 
1986 in Edinburg Consolidated ISD and has substituted in the 
district since then; and
	WHEREAS, A celebrated artist, Ms. Stephens began teaching art 
at St. Joseph Catholic School in 1999, and students in kindergarten 
through eighth grade benefit tremendously from her expertise, 
creativity, and talent for instruction; and
	WHEREAS, Representative Aaron Pena has justly recognized Ana 
Stephens by authoring this resolution in her behalf during the 79th 
Legislature; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Ana Stephens for receiving the 
2004-2005 SPIRIT AWARD from St. Joseph Catholic School and extend 
to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Stephens as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
