R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Eight decades of notable accomplishments, treasured
memories, and happy times with family and dear friends are truly
worth celebrating, and on April 19, 2005, Doris Graves Reynolds of
Uvalde observed this milestone in her life; and
WHEREAS, A sixth-generation Texan, Mrs. Reynolds proudly
traces her family's roots in the Lone Star State to the original
Spanish land grant on Padre Island; she was a teacher for 31 years
and previously lived in Montell and Van Horn, and on a ranch near
Kent; and
WHEREAS, This lovely lady is the matriarch of a cherished
family that includes a daughter, Kathy Carr, and three sons, Bill,
Jim, and Matt Reynolds, and through the years, she has happily
welcomed the arrival of eight grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, This special birthday presents a fitting
opportunity to honor an exceptional woman who has shared so much
with others through her unwavering dedication to her family and
many friends and to the schoolchildren of Texas; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Doris Graves Reynolds on her 80th
birthday and extend to her best wishes for continued happiness;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Reynolds as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
