R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Enos Raymond Presley of Atlanta on
April 10, 2005, at the age of 87, has deeply saddened his family and
many friends, who may take solace in memories of a life filled with
joyful times, loving moments, and meaningful accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, A native of Delight, Arkansas, where he was born on
October 9, 1917, Mr. Presley attended his hometown's public schools
and later served two tours of duty in the Philippines as a member of
the U.S. Army during World War II; and
WHEREAS, He was retired from Reliable Life Insurance Company
and had been an employee of Hanner Funeral Service; a charter
member, officer, deacon, and elder of Atlanta Church of Christ, he
was also an accomplished golfer and a doting grandfather; and
WHEREAS, Enos Raymond Presley was truly a blessing in the
lives of many, and his memory will long be held in the hearts of
those fortunate enough to have known his love and friendship; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Enos Raymond Presley
and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his
wife, Nellie Presley; to his children, Ray Presley and his wife,
Gloria, and Martha "Marty" Ethridge; to his grandchildren, Chris
and Kathleen Strickland; to his sister, Nettie Beene; and to all who
mourn his passing; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Enos
Raymond Presley.
