R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Todd Dodge, head football coach at Southlake Carroll
High School, received a significant honor on January 14, 2005, when
he was named the Adams USA National Head Coach of the Year at the
U.S. Army All-American Bowl Awards Dinner in San Antonio; and
WHEREAS, Coach Dodge led the Dragons to the Class 5A Division
II State Championship and a perfect 16-0 record in 2004, applying
his keen leadership skills, his considerable football savvy, and
his unique and effective team management principles toward a highly
successful season; and
WHEREAS, This well-regarded educator has established himself
as one of the nation's premier football coaches; since the team
moved up to Class 5A three seasons ago, Coach Dodge has led
Southlake Carroll to an astounding 47-1 record, a testament to his
abilities as an exceptional teacher and an unparalleled motivator;
and
WHEREAS, In addition to capturing the prestigious 2004 state
championship, the Dragons also received recognition as the 24 Hour
Fitness National High School Team of the Year; this well-deserved
honor highlighted the team's many accomplishments throughout the
season and has brought positive attention to Southlake Carroll High
School; and
WHEREAS, Coach Dodge has gained the respect and admiration of
his players, his fellow coaches, and the many supporters of
Southlake Carroll High School, and his acceptance of the Adams USA
National Head Coach of the Year Award is a fitting tribute to his
remarkable record of success; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Todd Dodge on his receipt of the
Adams USA National Head Coach of the Year Award and commend him for
his myriad contributions to the Southlake Carroll High School
football program; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Coach Dodge as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
