R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Corsicana Chapter of the Huston-Tillotson 
University International Alumni Association is being honored as the 
association's 2005 Chapter of the Year at the Alumni Annual Awards 
Banquet on May 7, 2005; and
	WHEREAS, The Corsicana group was founded in 2002 and has 
since been an invaluable asset to the association, which is 
dedicated to serving the alumni, friends, and students of the 
college through programs, scholarships, and activities that foster 
loyalty and continued improvement in the life of the school; and
	WHEREAS, Under the current leadership of president Shirley 
Thomas Ware, the Corsicana chapter has contributed greatly to the 
vitality of Huston-Tillotson University, and it is indeed a 
pleasure to honor its members for their work in advancing the 
mission of this exemplary institution; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate the Corsicana Chapter of the 
Huston-Tillotson University International Alumni Association on 
being named the 2005 Chapter of the Year by the association and 
extend to all those associated with the organization sincere best 
wishes for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the chapter as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
