R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Todd Hamilton of McKinney has achieved outstanding
success on the 2004 PGA Tour with an unforgettable victory at the
British Open; and
WHEREAS, A bright star in the world of professional golf, Mr.
Hamilton won his first PGA Tour event at the Honda Classic before he
lit up the links at St. Andrews with a final score of 10 under par to
claim the coveted British Open crown; he finished the season ranked
11th on the 2004 PGA Tour's money list; and
WHEREAS, His British Open win gives Mr. Hamilton a PGA Tour
card through 2009, ensuring that this Texas resident with a quiet
demeanor and smooth swing will be a prominent figure on the tour for
many years to come; and
WHEREAS, Supported in all his endeavors by his wife, Jacque,
and their children Tyler, Kaylee, and Drake, Mr. Hamilton is a
source of tremendous pride to all his family and friends as well as
his countless supporters in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Todd Hamilton on a stellar 2004 PGA
season that included a victory at the British Open and extend to him
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Hamilton as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
