R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Justin Neal Bryan, a freshman at Texas A&M
University, has received a most prestigious honor with his receipt
of the Buck Weirus Spirit Award; and
WHEREAS, Named for Richard "Buck" Weirus, who served as
executive director of The Association of Former Students from 1964
to 1980, this accolade annually recognizes 52 students who have
demonstrated outstanding contributions to student life programs at
the university; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bryan is one of only five freshmen chosen for
this honor; he worked in the ESC Class Council program and was
elected vice president his freshman year and sophomore class
president for next year; a member of the Corps of Cadets, Mr. Bryan
earned a place on the Commandant's Honor Roll, received the Air
Force ROTC Academic Medal, and was named "Most Gung-ho Fish" by his
Squadron 3 upperclassmen; and
WHEREAS, The son of proud parents William and Marsha Bryan,
this outstanding young Texan is a third-generation Aggie, and his
contributions to the programs and activities unique to Texas A&M
University in addition to his hard work and dedication are a great
testament to that family's proud tradition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Justin Neal Bryan for his receipt of the
Buck Weirus Spirit Award and extend to him best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Bryan as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
