R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may temper the profound sadness that the passing of Lynn Franek of Crowley on November 16, 2004, brought to all who knew and loved her; and WHEREAS, Born on July 24, 1949, in Galveston, Mrs. Franek attended Sam Houston State University, where she earned her bachelor of arts degree in English and master's degree in history, and she received her superintendent's certificate from The University of Texas at Arlington; she taught history at the University of Maryland in Wertheim, Germany, before teaching at Klein Middle School in Houston; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Franek joined the Crowley Independent School District in 1986 as an English teacher at Crowley High School, a position she held for nine years until becoming an instructional principal; after four years, she was made principal of Crowley Ninth Grade Center; and WHEREAS, A devoted wife, loving mother, and exceptional educator and administrator, Mrs. Franek played a positive role in the lives of countless people, and she is deeply missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lynn V. Franek and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, Robert S. Franek; to her two daughters, Erika and Laura Franek; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lynn V.
