R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The fourth-grade students of Meadowcreek Elementary School in the Crowley Independent School District have nearly completed the 2004-2005 school year, and on reflecting on all they have learned this year, they will no doubt remember with pleasure the trip they took to visit the State Capitol in Austin; and WHEREAS, With the 79th Texas Legislative Session well under way, the Capitol Complex has been a center of great activity, which provided these young people with an excellent opportunity to see their state government in action; and WHEREAS, This memorable trip was arranged by Misty White, the 2003 Meadowcreek Elementary School Teacher of the Year, who is one of several dedicated professionals who have made it their goal to encourage and inspire a love of learning in these students by organizing interesting field trips and other enrichment activities; and WHEREAS, The magnificent Capitol is an ideal setting for young and old alike to discover the rich heritage of the Lone Star State and to gain insight into the work of state lawmakers, and it is hoped that the students' visit to the seat of Texas government increased their interest in and awareness of how state laws are passed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby commend the students of Meadowcreek Elementary School for their interest in learning more about Texas state government; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the fourth-grade class at Meadowcreek Elementary School as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
