R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Words cannot soften the sorrow of a young life cut short, and we join the loved ones of KayDee Welch of Mansfield in mourning her passing on March 30, 2005, at the age of 10; and WHEREAS, Born on February 22, 1995, in Fort Worth, Miss Welch was a fourth-grade student at Nash Elementary School and a vibrant young girl who loved field trips, singing, and the classic Dr. Seuss tale, Green Eggs and Ham; she was a member of the Girl Scouts and competed in area beauty pageants, and her enthusiasm for life was as boundless as the deep adoration she received from her friends and family; and WHEREAS, Although she struggled with a disability during the course of her life, this remarkable girl did not let it prevent her from having fun or embracing new experiences; and WHEREAS, KayDee Welch was truly an inspiration and will be dearly missed by the many people whose lives were touched by her affection, friendship, and sunny personality; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of KayDee Welch and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her mother, Tammy Welch; to her father, James Welch; to her brothers, Jeffery and Christopher; to her sister, Jennifer Brown; to her grandparents, Don and Mary King; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of KayDee Welch.
