H.R. No. 1566



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Those Texans who dedicate themselves to public 
service in behalf of their fellow citizens are truly deserving of 
our sincere gratitude and admiration, and Dianna Spieker of Tom 
Green County is one such individual; and
	WHEREAS, The treasurer of Tom Green County since 1999, Ms. 
Spieker brings to this position her characteristic integrity and 
diligence, and over the course of her tenure she has earned the 
respect of her colleagues in county government and of area 
citizens; and
	WHEREAS, The county treasurer's office is essential to the 
sound and honest administration of regional government, and its 
occupant must uphold the highest ethical and professional 
standards; and
	WHEREAS, The high esteem in which Ms. Spieker is held by her 
professional peers is evidenced by her selection to serve as 
president of the County Treasurers' Association of Texas, a post 
she has held since September 2004, and she is also a board member of 
the Texas Association of Counties; and
	WHEREAS, Her leadership in office has greatly benefited the 
residents of Tom Green County as well as her counterparts in county 
government across the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby honor Dianna Spieker for her notable public 
service and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, 
be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Spieker as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
