R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Rita Varavadekar has ably served the citizens of
Texas during the 79th Legislative Session as an intern in the office
of State Representative Kevin Bailey; and
WHEREAS, A student at The University of Texas at Austin, Ms.
Varavadekar is working toward a bachelor's degree in business
administration, while also fulfilling her pre-medical requirements
to prepare herself for a career in medicine; as a student, she
demonstrates curiosity, intitiative, and dedication, often
pursuing employment opportunities in an effort to learn about the
professions and issues that are of interest to her; and
WHEREAS, She was recently selected to a committee for Texas
Revue and has been active with the Indian Student Association for
the past two years; in addition, she takes great pride in her status
as an adult member of the Girl Scouts of America, an organization in
which she has been involved for eight years; she plans to study
abroad in Barcelona, Spain, in the spring of 2006, seizing yet
another opportunity to broaden her horizons and expand her
knowledge of the world; and
WHEREAS, Through her work as an intern, Ms. Varavadekar has
had the opportunity to contribute to the workings of state
government firsthand while enhancing her knowledge of the
legislative process; she has gained valuable work experience and
performed her duties with skill and dedication, and her efforts in
behalf of her fellow citizens are most appreciated; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Rita Varavadekar for her service as a
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Kevin
Bailey and extend to her sincere best wishes for success and
achievement in all her future endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Varavadekar as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
