H.R. No. 1575
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Socorro Rodriguez of Clint on
September 12, 2004, at the age of 76, has brought a profoundly felt
loss to the family and many friends of this beloved man; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Clint, Mr. Rodriguez retired
from the City of El Paso Transit Department after a 30-year career
as a bus driver, which began with the Lower Valley Bus Lines and
also included a period of service with the Y.I.S.D. Transportation
Department; and
WHEREAS, He was a valued member of San Lorenzo Church and
served as an usher and Mayordomo for the San Lorenzo Fiesta for many
years; and
WHEREAS, Devoted husband, brother, father, and grandfather,
Mr. Rodriguez was an inspiration to all who were privileged to know
him, and although he is greatly missed, his memory lives on in the
hearts of those whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of Socorro
Rodriguez and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family:
to his wife of 42 years, Paula Rodriguez; to his son, Alonzo
Rodriguez and his wife, Terry; to his daughters, Patsie Montellano
and her husband, Gus, Sandie Gonzalez and her husband, Angel, and
Corina Gamez and her husband, Dr. Manuel Gamez; to his
grandchildren, Adrian, Isaac, Aleena, Chris Paul, Cassie, Melissa,
Emily, Sarah, Matthew, and Jonathan; to his sisters, Angelita
Mendoza and Belen Banuelos; and to his many other relatives and
friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Socorro
Rodriguez.
