H.R. No. 1576


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of Jack Dalton Strachan of Clint who died on March 16, 2002, at the age of 73; and WHEREAS, Born on March 6, 1929, Mr. Strachan graduated from Clint High School and served his country in the Korean War, earning both a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for his bravery; and WHEREAS, A member of the Clint United Methodist Church, he was employed with El Paso Electric for 22 years and was a cotton farmer in the lower valley for nearly three decades; and WHEREAS, Jack Strachan was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and his memory will be forever cherished by those who were blessed to share in his caring and friendship; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of Jack Dalton Strachan and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Mary Strachan; to his daughter, Jackie Bates; to his sons, Robert, Rodger, Richard, and Randy Strachan; to his grandchildren, Kindsey and Zachary Bates, Brandon, Morgan, and Dalton Strachan, and Travis Edwards; to his brother, Gene Strachan; to his sister, Marie Leslie; and to the other family members and many friends of this beloved man; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jack Dalton Strachan.
