R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The tragedy of a young life cut short is a sobering
reminder of the fragility of life, and it is with a deep sense of
sorrow that we mourn the passing of Jennifer Crystal Chavez of
Clint, who died on December 20, 2004, at the age of 19; and
WHEREAS, A vibrant and joyful individual, Ms. Chavez
brightened the days of all she met with her warm smile and winning
personality; and
WHEREAS, Her great generosity of spirit and selflessness were
a welcome example of what is most admirable in humanity, and by her
own actions she brought out the best in all those around her; and
WHEREAS, Although we are greatly saddened by her passing, her
memory will continue to shine on brightly in the hearts of all those
fortunate enough to have known her; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jennifer Crystal
Chavez and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to
her son, Devin; to her grandparents, Ramon and Micaela; to her
parents, Tury and Becky; to her sisters, Rachel, Lorraine, and
Athena; to her aunt, Lilly; to her nephew, Isaiha; to her niece,
Nadya; to her great-grandmother, Lupe; to her stepbrother, Matt;
and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas House
of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jennifer
Crystal Chavez.
