R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A third-grade class from Como Elementary School in
Fort Worth is visiting the State Capitol on this day to learn more
about the seat of Texas government firsthand; and
WHEREAS, With the 79th Legislative Session well underway, the
Capitol is a source of great activity, offering visitors an
excellent opportunity to see their state government in action; and
WHEREAS, Accompanied by dedicated teacher and advanced
academic coordinator Joyce Bowens, these young Texans will have a
chance to tour the Capitol and learn more about the fascinating
history of this monument to freedom and democracy; the outstanding
collection of art and documentation housed on the Capitol grounds
also provides an exceptional source of information for those
interested in the role of state government and the chronicles of our
great state; and
WHEREAS, The magnificent Capitol, with its impressive
rotunda and distinctive pink granite facade, is an ideal setting
for young and old alike to discover the rich heritage of the Lone
Star State and to gain insight into the workings of our state
legislature, and the members of this chamber are pleased to
commemorate this worthwhile visit; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Joyce Bowens and the visiting
third-grade students of Como Elementary School on their interest in
state government and extend to them sincere best wishes for an
informative and memorable visit to Austin; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the class and their teacher as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
