R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Asian Pacific American Heritage Association is
celebrating its 13th anniversary with a gala on May 20, 2005, in
Houston; and
WHEREAS, APAHA was founded in 1992 to promote awareness and
understanding of Asian Pacific American culture and its diversity;
moreover, the organization has collaborated with various community
entities to provide educational, cultural, and scholarship
programs to area residents; and
WHEREAS, The annual gala recognizes the accomplishments and
achievements of Houston's Asian Pacific American community, and
honors the organization's many contributors; the event coincides
with other festivities celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage
Month in May; and
WHEREAS, Enhancing racial harmony and promoting cultural
awareness, APAHA is a noteworthy organization that is certainly
deserving of special recognition for its service to the citizens of
Houston and the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor the members of the Asian Pacific American
Heritage Association on the occasion of the organization's 13th
anniversary gala and extend to them sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for APAHA as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
