H.R. No. 1606
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, May 7, 2005, marks the 80th birthday of Wang Chi, an
esteemed resident of Houston, and this memorable milestone presents
a fitting opportunity to reflect on her many remarkable
contributions in behalf of others; and
WHEREAS, A gifted artist, Ms. Wang has long given generously
of her talent in behalf of those less fortunate, donating many of
her art pieces for auctions and other charitable events to raise
untold dollars for the victims of natural disasters; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Wang is also a champion of the physically
disabled, and her compassionate advocacy of their needs has greatly
improved the lives of countless people; and
WHEREAS, Her concern for the disadvantaged extends far beyond
the borders of the United States, and she was instrumental in the
founding of an elementary school in a rural area of northern China,
educating children who previously had no opportunity to expand
their horizons; and
WHEREAS, Those Texans who dedicate their time and resources
to the greater good are truly deserving of our deepest admiration
and gratitude, and Wang Chi has established herself as one such
individual; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Wang Chi on her 80th birthday and
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Wang as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
