H.R. No. 1607
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, With the passing of Daisy Lee Tindall of Friendswood
on May 1, 2005, at the age of 94, a great lover of beauty in all its
forms has been lost, and we join her family and friends in mourning
her death; and
WHEREAS, Born Daisy Lee Davis in Omaha, Texas, in 1910, she
moved in her early teens to Glen Rose, where she was named
valedictorian of her high school class and selected to represent
her community as Miss Glen Rose in the Miss Texas Pageant of 1929;
and
WHEREAS, After high school, she graduated from Clifton
Lutheran College, which she attended on a scholarship, and she went
on to marry Hattley C. Tindall, with whom she enjoyed a very happy
marriage until his death in 1995; and
WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Omaha and Corpus Christi,
Mrs. Tindall spent her last years in Friendswood, where she pursued
her lifelong interests in literature and flowers and took special
pleasure in spending time with her loved ones; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Tindall was also a valued member of Oso Chapter
No. 868 of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the
Confederacy, and her presence will be missed by her friends in those
organizations; and
WHEREAS, Though saddened by her passing, Mrs. Tindall's
admirers may take comfort in the fact that hers was a life well
lived and rich with unique experiences; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Daisy Lee Tindall and
extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her sons,
Richard A. Tindall and Harry Lee Tindall; to her daughters-in-law,
Leola Hill Hancock and Marian Tindall; to her grandchildren,
Richard Keith Tindall, Geneva Gail Tindall, Jennifer Tindall Adams,
Margaret Tindall Vera, Angela Crumley, Sky Hansen, and Katie
Heckel; to her great-grandchildren, Tindall Elizabeth Adams,
William Dees Adams, Emeline Elise Crumley, John G. Hancock III,
Brittany Hancock, Jessica Marie Hancock, David Cody Hancock, and
Valerie Heckel; and to her other family members and friends; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas House
of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Daisy
Lee Tindall of Friendswood.
