R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Kathy Rubio on May 2, 2004, at the age
of 56, brought a great loss to her family and friends, though they
may take comfort in recalling a life filled with many joyful times
and meaningful accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Pedro and Pauline Martinez, she was
a resident of San Elizario and had formerly lived in Dell City; as a
young woman, she became the bride of Celso Rubio and together they
were blessed with four children and four grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, This lovely lady brightened the lives of countless
people during her years on this earth, and she will be fondly
remembered for her engaging smile and caring ways by all who were
privileged to know her; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Rubio took pleasure in the roles she played as a
devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend, and she
treasured the time she spent with her loved ones, who will forever
cherish her memory; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kathy Rubio and extend
sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, Celso
Rubio; to her children, Rhett and Rachel Rubio, Celso Rubio, Jr.,
and his wife, Annette, and Michelle Campos and her husband, Rene; to
her four grandchildren; to her brother and sisters; and to all who
mourn the passing of this beloved woman; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kathy
Rubio.
