R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Patrick Gorman has been named the 2005 Small Business Person of the Year by the Wichita Falls Board of Commerce and Industry; and WHEREAS, This prestigious accolade has been awarded to deserving individuals since 1982, using criteria developed by the Small Business Administration, including history as an established business, growth in number of employees, increase in sales, innovation in products or services, advertising, and community contributions; and WHEREAS, One of the area's most outstanding businessmen, Mr. Gorman began his career in the early 1980s as a delivery person for BMI and quickly rose through the ranks as a result of his exceptional skills and dedication; and WHEREAS, In 1987, he became president of DynaSystems, a supplier and service provider for office equipment, and three years later became its sole owner; the company has experienced tremendous growth and prosperity under Mr. Gorman's leadership, and today it boasts 29 employees and more than 1,500 customers; and WHEREAS, Despite his busy schedule, Mr. Gorman finds time to give back to his community and has been highly involved with the Board of Commerce and Industry, helping to create the Wake Up Wichita Falls Program and the Business After Hours makeover; and WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Pat Gorman has aspired to the highest levels of professionalism and achievement, and he is indeed deserving of this special honor; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Patrick Gorman on being named the 2005 Small Business Person of the Year by the Wichita Falls Board of Commerce and Industry and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Gorman as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
