R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Debora Jean Kennedy of Fort
Worth on March 3, 2005, at the age of 37, has brought a profoundly
felt loss to the family and many friends of this beloved woman; and
WHEREAS, Born on February 5, 1968, in Thornton, Colorado, Ms.
Kennedy earned her bachelor's degree from Bethany College in
Lindsborg, Kansas, and had been a kindergarten and prekindergarten
teacher at Effie Morris Elementary School in Lake Worth for 14
years; and
WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, she took great joy in
making scrapbooks and photograph albums for her family; moreover,
she was a valued member of the Light of the World Lutheran Church
and was instrumental in the development of its prekindergarten
program; and
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Debora Kennedy
will remember her zest for life and her love for her family;
although she will be sorely missed, her memory will live on in the
hearts of those whose lives she so richly blessed with her kindness
and friendship; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the life of Debora Jean
Kennedy and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to
her husband, Scott Kennedy; to her children, Rebecca and Rachel
Kennedy; to her parents, Jacquie and Jim Strauch; to her brother,
Greg Strauch; to her grandmother, Betty Shapard; and to all who
mourn the loss of this much-loved woman; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Debora Jean
Kennedy.
