R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kingsville is receiving an Official Texas Historical Marker in recognition of its long and notable history of service to the community, and this significant event underscores the important contributions made by the leaders and congregants of this venerable house of worship; and WHEREAS, Established in January 1912 as a mission station under the direction of the Reverend Frederick H. Eickhoff, St. Paul Lutheran Church stands on land donated by Mrs. Henrietta King on November 29, 1913; it was officially organized in 1918, and although its physical structure has changed greatly during its storied existence, the underlying essence of fellowship and faith remains strong among the congregation; and WHEREAS, Currently led by the Reverend Allan Eckert, St. Paul Lutheran Church has been blessed with strong leadership and visionary guidance throughout 93 years as a respected community institution; and WHEREAS, Recognition by the Texas Historical Commission highlights the important role that this church has played in the life of the Kingsville area and provides an assurance that this notable piece of history will not be forgotten; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby recognize the placement of an Official Texas Historical Marker honoring St. Paul Lutheran Church of Kingsville; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for St. Paul Lutheran Church as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
