R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sara Bechtold, a second-grade teacher at Houston
Elementary School, has been named the Austin Independent School
District's 2005 Teacher of the Year; and
WHEREAS, An eight-year veteran of the classroom, Ms. Bechtold
began her education career as a longtime substitute teacher in the
Austin ISD; after becoming a national board certified teacher and a
Region 13 master reading instructor, she taught at Palm, Graham,
and Widen Elementary Schools before going to Houston Elementary
School in 1998; and
WHEREAS, The prestigious Teacher of the Year awards are
presented to educators who inspire a love of learning that sets
their students on the path to a bright and rewarding future, and Ms.
Bechtold is indeed such an exemplary role model in the teaching
profession; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Sara Bechtold of Houston Elementary School
for being named Austin Independent School District's 2005 Teacher
of the Year and extend to her best wishes for continued success;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Bechtold as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
