R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Each June, the American Society for Healthcare Risk 
Management (ASHRM) sponsors National Healthcare Risk Management 
Week in order to encourage wider appreciation of the risk 
management profession and to support the organization's vision of 
safe and trusted health care; and
	WHEREAS, A personal membership group of the American Hospital 
Association, ASHRM promotes effective and innovative risk 
management strategies and patient safety through education, 
recognition, advocacy, publications, networking, and interactions 
with leading health care organizations and government agencies; and
	WHEREAS, With more than 4,600 members who represent health 
care, insurance, law, and related professions, ASHRM holds as its 
mission the advancement of safe and trusted patient-centered health 
care delivery by promoting proactive and innovative health care 
risk management of organization-wide risk; and
	WHEREAS, This year, ASHRM has chosen the theme, "Make Your 
Mark," in celebration of the ways in which risk managers strive to 
promote safe and effective patient care practices, preservation of 
financial resources, and maintenance of safe working environments; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby recognize June 20-24, 2005, as National 
Healthcare Risk Management Week and encourage all Texans to 
acknowledge the many contributions made by our risk managers to 
improve the safety of our health care system.
