R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Pine Shadows Elementary School in Houston marked a 
historic milestone as faculty, students, and alumni celebrated the 
50th anniversary of the facility's founding on May 6, 2005; and
	WHEREAS, Opened in September 1955, the school has long been a 
valued part of the community, and generations of students have 
attended this enduring institution; and
	WHEREAS, Pine Shadows Elementary School has undergone 
extensive renovations throughout the last five decades, with 
expansions adding a new wing, gym, and music room to the existing 
facilities; though many changes have taken place on the campus over 
the years, the school's dedicated staff remains committed to 
helping all students achieve their full potential; and
	WHEREAS, The PTA has also played a vital role in the 
institution's success; during the first years after Pine Shadows 
opened, the PTA even ran the library and raised funds to support the 
school's operations, and today's very active group continues to 
make important contributions to enhance school life; and
	WHEREAS, For half a century, Pine Shadows Elementary School 
has helped to shape tomorrow's leaders, and it is indeed deserving 
of special recognition as it celebrates this significant event in 
its rich history; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of Pine Shadows 
Elementary School and extend best wishes to all members, past and 
present, of the school's fine administration, faculty, staff, and 
student body on this momentous occasion; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
