R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, U.S. Marine First Lieutenant Jeremiah Leibowitz has
earned the respect and admiration of all who know him for his
exemplary service in behalf of this country; and
WHEREAS, A member of the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines,
Lieutenant Leibowitz served with honor in the invasion of Iraq, and
has since been deployed for a second tour of duty; and
WHEREAS, He is a graduate of Texas A&M University and the son
of our esteemed colleague, the Honorable David McQuade Leibowitz,
and his wife, Delia, both of whom take great pride in their son's
many accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to this
courageous young man and to all of the country's military
personnel, for they are called on to bear great, often
unimaginable, burdens, and they render service and sacrifice that
are truly beyond measure; and
WHEREAS, Through his unfaltering devotion to duty, honor, and
this nation, Jeremiah Leibowitz embodies the highest ideals of the
U.S. armed forces, and it is indeed a privilege to honor him at this
time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby commend U.S. Marine First Lieutenant Jeremiah
Leibowitz for his steadfast service during Operation Iraqi Freedom
and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Lieutenant Leibowitz as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
