H.R. No. 1730



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Armando Marroquin is a most deserving recipient of 
the Alice Mayor's MLK Humanitarian Award; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Marroquin awards a $10,000 scholarship each year 
to a high school senior who is planning to attend college to work 
toward a career in the field of media and entertainment; and
	WHEREAS, By assisting students to attain such worthy goals as 
higher education and a rewarding profession, Mr. Marroquin 
demonstrates his firm belief in the importance of education, 
especially for Hispanic youth; and
	WHEREAS, Armando Marroquin is making a profound impact in the 
lives of his scholarship recipients and their families, and he 
merits special legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby commend Armando Marroquin for his exceptional 
commitment to the higher education of students in the Alice area and 
extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Marroquin as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
