R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Adan Valadez has received the Martin Luther King,
Jr., Humanitarian Award from the office of the mayor of Alice, and
this achievement offers an ideal opportunity to reflect on this
remarkable Texan's outstanding public service; and
WHEREAS, The youngest person ever elected to serve as
treasurer of Jim Wells County at the age of 21, he held that post
with great distinction for nearly three decades, bringing his
characteristic integrity and dedication to the job, and he has also
distinguished himself on the board of directors of First Community
Bank; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Valadez is well known in the community as a
successful businessman as well as the owner of Right of Way Service,
Inc., which has prospered in the area for the past quarter-century;
moreover, his civic involvement extends far beyond commercial
enterprise, as he is both a stalwart supporter of the Jim Wells
County Fair and an eloquent champion of education; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, he has drawn strength and
support from his loving and close-knit family, and his grounding in
the warmth of home life has helped to shape and enrich his public
endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Adan Valadez continues to demonstrate the positive
difference one committed individual can make in his or her
community, and it is indeed fitting that he be recognized for his
many significant accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Adan Valadez on his receipt of the
Martin Luther King, Jr., Humanitarian Award from the office of the
mayor of Alice and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Valadez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
