R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Eva Richardson has received the Martin Luther King,
Jr., Humanitarian Award from the office of the mayor of Alice, and
this achievement offers an apt opportunity to reflect on this
esteemed Texan's selfless contributions in behalf of her fellow
citizens; and
WHEREAS, A dedicated activist, Ms. Richardson has long been
admired for her leadership in the community, for her
accomplishments include the initiative that renamed Kingsville
Road Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard in tribute to the fallen
civil rights leader; and
WHEREAS, Through the years, Ms. Richardson has been a devout
member of the community of worship at True Light Baptist Church, and
the integrity and humility she brings to her public endeavors are
greatly nourished by her strong faith; and
WHEREAS, Those Texans who dedicate their time and talent to
the benefit of many are truly deserving of our deepest admiration
and gratitude, and Eva Richardson has distinguished herself as one
such individual; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Eva Richardson on her receipt of
the Martin Luther King, Jr., Humanitarian Award from the office of
the mayor of Alice and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Richardson as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
