H.R. No. 1751



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Kilgore Rotary Club recognized five local 
students as Scholar Athletes at the organization's annual banquet 
on April 28, 2005; and
	WHEREAS, Honorees from Kilgore High School are graduating 
seniors Josh Wood and Micki Cunyus; Mr. Wood has the distinction of 
being valedictorian of his class and has played on the school's 
tennis team for four years; Ms. Cunyus is graduating fourth in her 
class and has also excelled as a tennis player, setting school 
records and qualifying for the state tournament; and
	WHEREAS, Representing Sabine High School are seniors Josh 
Raygor and Katy Furrh; Mr. Raygor, a four-sport letterman and 
captain of the football team, is graduating as salutatorian of his 
class; this year's valedictorian, Ms. Furrh, has excelled in 
volleyball, softball, and cheerleading, in addition to writing for 
the Liberty City Good News and playing with the school band; and
	WHEREAS, The final Scholar Athlete, Cole Kristynik, is a 
student at Kilgore College, where he has been lauded for his 
academic achievements as well as his outstanding performance as 
quarterback of the KC Rangers, leading the team to a Southwest 
Junior College Football Conference championship and a bowl berth; 
and
	WHEREAS, Excelling in both athletics and academics, these 
exceptional young Texans are undoubtedly sources of tremendous 
pride to their families, schools, and communities, and it is indeed 
fitting to join with the Kilgore Rotary Club in honoring them; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Josh Wood, Micki Cunyus, Josh 
Raygor, Katy Furrh, and Cole Kristynik on being named Scholar 
Athletes by the Kilgore Rotary Club and extend to them sincere best 
wishes for continued success in all their future endeavors; and, be 
it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the honorees as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
