H.R. No. 1758
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A half-century of marriage is certainly reason for
celebration, and on April 23, 2005, David and Caranelle Bodenheimer
of Gladewater marked this significant milestone by renewing their
wedding vows in the company of their family and friends; and
WHEREAS, Given away by her son, Duane Bodenheimer, her
son-in-law, Logan Ashby, and the remaining members of her family,
the bride was attended by her sister, Nancy Thomas, while the
groom's attendant was his sister, Diana Hodde; serving as flower
girls were the couple's granddaughter, Ashley Bodenheimer, and
great-granddaughter, Cara Boyce; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Kay Overcash, a longtime family friend
from South Carolina, conducted the ceremony, which included the
performance of a love song written by the couple's daughter, Donna
Ashby, and sung by Kelly Harper; Ms. Harper's daughter, Dorinda
Harper, read a letter of tribute; and
WHEREAS, The finishing touch was a pronouncement by Reverend
Overcash that the couple were now Mr. and Mrs. Caranelle Hill, in
honor of the bride's wish that after 50 years of marriage, her
husband would take her name; and
WHEREAS, Together, David and Caranelle Bodenheimer have
shared the myriad blessings and challenges of marriage through five
decades, and it is fitting that they be honored at this special
time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate David and Caranelle Bodenheimer on
their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Bodenheimers as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
