R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The death of a child is a sobering reminder of the
brevity and fragility of life, and it is with deep sorrow that we
mourn the passing of Anthony Paschal Dwight of Houston on April 14,
2005, at the age of 10; and
WHEREAS, Among Anthony's most distinctive attributes was his
great love of learning, and the delight he took in sharpening his
able mind expressed itself both in his straight-A average at Oak
Forest Elementary School and in the depth and breadth of his
reading; and
WHEREAS, A loving son and brother, he enjoyed reading library
books aloud to his two-year-old brother, Rico, a kindness that was
typical of this remarkable young man; and
WHEREAS, Family and friends of Anthony Dwight may count
themselves fortunate to have known him, and in recalling his unique
and irreplaceable spirit, will keep his memory alive in continuing
tribute; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor the memory of Anthony Paschal Dwight of
Houston and extend sincere sympathy to his parents, Frederick and
Jennifer Dwight; to his brother, Rico; and to his other relatives
and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House
of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Anthony
Paschal Dwight.
