R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the State of Texas
takes pride in recognizing Wayne Ogle of Arlington, Texas, for his
service and commitment to the citizens of Arlington as Arlington
City Council member, District 3, from 1995 to 2005; and
WHEREAS, Wayne currently serves as pastor to the congregation
of the Webb Baptist Church in Arlington; and
WHEREAS, Wayne has been an active member of the community for
over 20 years and served as mayor pro tem of Arlington from 2000 to
2004; president, Arlington Housing Finance Corporation; the
Arlington Independent School District Safe and Drug-Free Schools
and Communities Advisory Council; the North Central Texas Council
of Governments Executive Board; the Southeast Arlington
Neighborhood Alliance; board member, Arlington Youth Services;
member, Arlington Crime Watch; Executive Board of the Tarrant
Baptist Association; UTA Alumni Association; and American
Association of Christian Counselors; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Ogle will resign his position on the Arlington
City Council to serve as school board member for the Arlington
Independent School District; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Wayne Ogle of Arlington, Texas, for his
commitment to service above self; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared in honor
of Wayne Ogle as an expression of esteem from the Texas House of
Representatives.
