R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful moments and
meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of F.
M. "Roe" Miller of Fort Davis, who passed away on April 23, 2005, at
the age of 86; and
WHEREAS, Born on August 2, 1918, Mr. Miller was a true Texas
cowboy, who followed his trade from Mexico to Canada; in May 2003,
he was inducted into the Big Bend Cowboy Hall of Fame in Marfa; and
WHEREAS, A decorated patriot, this esteemed gentleman served
in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served in the squadron that
flew the first naval planes over Tokyo in 1945; he was a member of
First Presbyterian Church of Fort Davis, Huntley Project Masonic
Lodge No. 144, Scottish Rite of El Paso, and the Fabens Order of the
Eastern Star; and
WHEREAS, A cherished father and friend, Mr. Miller will be
deeply missed by all those who were privileged to know him and by
those who were touched by his deep sense of community and country;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to Roe Miller and extend sincere
sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Jean B. Miller;
to his daughter, Sandra Elizabeth Reinhardt and her husband, Dale;
to his son, Thomas Barton Miller, Sr., and his wife, Pam; to his
four grandchildren; to his two great-grandchildren; to his good
friend, Silvestra Molinar; and to his other relatives and many
friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Roe Miller.
