R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The 50th anniversary of St. James Episcopal School in Del Rio provides an ideal opportunity to recognize the exemplary education and support that the school has provided to its students for half a century; and WHEREAS, Established in 1955, St. James Episcopal School has more than 200 students in prekindergarten through seventh grade and in an eighth-grade section that opened for 2004-2005; the early childhood, elementary, and middle school programs are accredited by the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools, which is recognized by the Texas Education Agency, and a licensed after-school care program is available; and WHEREAS, St. James Episcopal School thrives under the leadership of head of school Arnoldo L. Romero and assistant head of school Sarah Day Maxwell; the teachers and staff of this outstanding institution are helping to shape tomorrow's leaders with pride and determination, and they are truly deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby recognize St. James Episcopal School on the occasion of its 50th anniversary and extend to its students, faculty, and staff best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
