H.R. No. 1789
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Mayor Rick Hurt of Bedford has made an indelible
impact on the political and civic fabric of his community for many
years, and his dedication is truly worthy of special recognition;
and
WHEREAS, Originally elected in 1994, Mr. Hurt served three
terms as mayor and recently resigned to offer new voices the
opportunity to lead the city; prior to his terms as mayor of this
North Texas community, he was a member of the city council for six
years; and
WHEREAS, A business analyst for American Airlines, this
noteworthy Texan was honored by the citizens of Bedford with the
naming of the R. D. Hurt Parkway in 2000; and
WHEREAS, The strength of our communities depends on the
leadership and commitment of individuals like Rick Hurt, and it is a
pleasure to honor his tenure in city politics; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Mayor Rick Hurt for his contributions to
the city of Bedford and extend to him sincere best wishes for great
success in all future endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Hurt as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
