R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Visual Arts Guild of Frisco is celebrating the grand opening of its new headquarters on May 27, 2005; and WHEREAS, Located in historic downtown Frisco, the 4,000-square-foot site was generously donated by Richard McKennon and his wife, Kayla, to provide ample workshops, classrooms, and gallery spaces for local visual artists; and WHEREAS, Founded in 2001, the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco is a nonprofit organization that represents those working in various media, including mosaics, collage, stained glass, graphic design, pastels and watercolors, acrylic and oil painting, assemblage, wood carving, sculpture, lampworking, and photography; and WHEREAS, The vibrancy of the visual arts in the Lone Star State depends on the commitment and dedication of community leaders such as those who have contributed to the expansion of the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco; it is a privilege to honor their hard work on this special occasion; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco on the grand opening of its new home and extend to all those associated with this organization sincere best wishes for continued success and achievement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the guild as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
