R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Zeke Cavazos of Raymondville has been named Fire 
Fighter of the Year by the Rio Grande Valley Fire Fighters/Fire 
Marshals Association, and this honor is indeed worthy of special 
recognition; and
	WHEREAS, A past first assistance chief and past training 
officer for the Raymondville Fire Department, Mr. Cavazos has ably 
served the department for the past 18 years; he is also a former 
president of the Rio Grande Valley Fire Fighters/Fire Marshals 
Association; and
	WHEREAS, He is vice principal and senior class sponsor at 
Raymondville High School, where he has been a teacher and 
administrator for 28 years; he has further distinguished himself as 
a city commissioner and as a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe 
Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Willacy County Lions 
Club; and
	WHEREAS, The exemplary ability and dedication Mr. Cavazos has 
exhibited throughout his tenure with the Raymondville Fire 
Department and his impressive contributions to his community 
through all of his notable civic endeavors have made him an 
inspiration for his fellow fire fighters and indeed for all Texans; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Zeke Cavazos on being named Fire 
Fighter of the Year by the Rio Grande Valley Fire Fighters/Fire 
Marshals Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for the 
future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Cavazos as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
