R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lewis Wright of El Paso has recently completed a
scouting project of great benefit to his community, and his
outstanding efforts indeed merit special legislative recognition;
and
WHEREAS, Inspired by Gem's Gems, a nonprofit organization
that distributes learning materials to area children, Mr. Wright
gathered more than 3,000 books over the course of two months; he
then distributed almost 2,000 that were for children to local
elementary schools; and
WHEREAS, An eighth-grader at Eastwood Middle School, Mr.
Wright is a valued member of Boy Scout Troop 86 in El Paso and has
enjoyed tremendous success throughout his scouting career, earning
a host of merit badges as well as the lasting respect and admiration
of his fellow scouts; and
WHEREAS, In completing his project, Lewis Wright has made an
invaluable contribution to his community and has exemplified the
highest ideals of the Boy Scouts of America, and he is a notable
role model for all who value literacy and education; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Lewis Wright for his achievements in
scouting and extend to him sincere best wishes for success and
happiness in the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Wright as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
