R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Newborns, children, and teenagers in El Paso County
will greatly benefit from the establishment of the Tornillo
Wellness Center, a health care center dedicated to improving the
health and quality of life of young people in the area; and
WHEREAS, The center's staff focuses on meeting the physical,
mental, educational, and social needs of the children within the
community, relying on contributions from the education and health
care systems as well as active parental and community involvement;
and
WHEREAS, This unique and vital facility provides an array of
necessary services, including care for chronic illness, laboratory
testing, physical examinations, and minor procedures; the center
also offers health and nutrition education and psychological and
social services and counseling; and
WHEREAS, Thanks to the efforts of individuals such as the
center's medical director, Dr. Rebecca Di Mundo, and the unwavering
support of the Texas Tech Department of Pediatrics, the El Paso
Pediatric Society, and the Tornillo Independent School District,
the Tornillo Wellness Center ensures that young people in El Paso
County will not go without needed care and support; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize the Tornillo Wellness Center and
commend the many individuals who have contributed to the
development and maintenance of this important facility.
