R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Trinity Valley Community College Cardinal cheerleaders claimed the 2005 National Cheerleaders Association Junior College Division championship in Daytona Beach, Florida, during competition on April 7-8, 2005; and WHEREAS, This title is the eighth NCA championship that TVCC cheerleaders have won since 1989; Cardinal squads have now captured more national championships than any college in any NCA division; and WHEREAS, Ably guided by Lucy Strom, who has coached the TVCC cheerleaders for the past three years, the 2004-2005 team executed with near-flawless precision a routine choreographed by Tyson Thomas to secure this latest triumph; and WHEREAS, Dedicated to their sport and school alike, these talented students are frequently on the road, supporting TVCC teams at athletic events and working at cheerleading camps and competitions; and WHEREAS, Through skilled coaching, unwavering focus, and an exceptional work ethic, the Cardinal cheerleaders have brought great credit to themselves and their school, and it is a pleasure to commend them on this prestigious achievement; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the Trinity Valley Community College Cardinal cheerleaders on winning the 2005 National Cheerleaders Association Junior College Division championship and extend to all those associated with this team sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Cardinal cheerleaders as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
