H.R. No. 1905
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Julie Salmon was named Miss Austin USA 2005, and she
will undoubtedly represent her fellow citizens with dignity and
grace in the Miss Texas USA pageant on June 26, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Selected from a group of lovely and talented
contestants, Ms. Salmon was crowned Miss Austin USA not only for her
beauty but also for her poise and commitment to volunteering for
organizations such as the Easter Seals of Central Texas and the
Austin State School; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Ms. Salmon is the
daughter of Debra and Buddy Salmon and the older sister of Bud; she
received her bachelor's degree in education in applied learning and
development in 2003 at UT, where she regularly participated in her
sorority's community activities; today, she enjoys spending her
free time walking around Town Lake, boating on Lake Travis, and
traveling around the state; and
WHEREAS, A worthy role model for all young Texans, Julie
Salmon serves as an outstanding representative of the city of
Austin, and she may look forward to a future bright with promise;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Julie Salmon on being named Miss
Austin USA 2005 and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Salmon as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
