R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Edna Pemberton of Dallas has been selected as a
recipient of an Outstanding Texan Award in the area of community
service by the Texas Legislative Black Caucus; and
WHEREAS, A 27-year Dallas resident known for her dedication
to helping others, Mrs. Pemberton has devoted her time and energy to
organize Bridge Over Troubled Water and the Church Community Census
Connection as well as the Fall Festival for needy children,
clothing drives, and Oak Cliff Concerned Citizens Against Crime;
she has also partnered with Concord Missionary Baptist Church,
Kmart, and Positively Oak Cliff to provide community assistance;
and
WHEREAS, Through her many worthy endeavors, Edna Pemberton
has a profound effect on the lives of countless residents of the
Lone Star State, and it is a great pleasure to recognize her at this
time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Edna Pemberton on being named an
Outstanding Texan by the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and extend
to her warmest best wishes for continued success and happiness;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Pemberton as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
