H.R. No. 1919


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Roberto A. Hernandez of Raymondville has earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, providing an appropriate opportunity to take special note of the myriad accomplishments of this dynamic young Texan; and WHEREAS, A valued and respected member of Lyford Troop No. 181, Mr. Hernandez has garnered 28 merit badges in a host of diverse areas and demonstrated outstanding leadership skills as evidenced by the completion of his Eagle Scout project, the construction of an arch at the entrance of the Lyford Guadalupe Cemetery; and WHEREAS, The first in his Cub Scout pack to receive the Arrow of Light award, he has since distinguished himself by joining the Wenanoma Lodge Order of the Arrow and the Order of the Arrow Brotherhood; moreover, he has served as a camp instructor at Philmont National Boy Scout Camp in New Mexico, counseling and teaching leadership skills to camp participants; and WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Felicitas and Ernesto Hernandez, Mr. Hernandez is a senior at Lyford High School, where he is active in athletics is a member of HOSA and the National Honor Society; in addition, he is an altar server and member of the Young Adults Ministry for Service at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, a certified lifeguard with the Raymondville City Pool, and an explorer with the Raymondville Volunteer Fire Department; and WHEREAS, Few are able to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, and through his dedication, initiative, and hard work, Mr. Hernandez has deservedly earned his place among scouting's elite; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Roberto A. Hernandez on becoming an Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued achievement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
