R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is truly cause for 
celebration, and on September 2, 2005, James Truman Taylor and 
Arlene Weyer Taylor of Friendswood are marking this golden 
milestone in their long and happy marriage; and
	WHEREAS, These college sweethearts first met while attending 
Baylor University, and in 1955, the two were wed in Shreveport, 
Louisiana; and
	WHEREAS, Over the years the couple have been blessed with a 
loving family that includes their children, State Representative 
Larry Taylor and his wife, Kerri, and Teri Taylor Wells and her 
husband, Raymond, and four grandchildren, Carly, Trudy, and Jake 
Taylor and Wisteria Wells; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor worked together running Truman 
Taylor Insurance for more than three decades before retiring in the 
late 1990s; the business thrived, due in no small part to the 
dedication of each family member; now leading an active retirement, 
the couple are enjoying life to the fullest, seeing the country by 
car, motorcycle, and motor home and making international 
destinations a part of their travel plans, including a cruise they 
will take with their children in celebration of their anniversary; 
and
	WHEREAS, Respected residents of their community, the Taylors 
attend First Baptist Church of Friendswood, where he serves the 
congregation as a deacon and she is a Sunday school teacher; known 
for their kindness and generosity, they have often opened their 
home to people in need; extremely supportive of their loved ones as 
well, they are two of their son's best campaign volunteers; and
	WHEREAS, For half a century, this loving pair have shared a 
union filled with many happy times and joyful family memories; 
their relationship is a source of inspiration to all who know them, 
and it is indeed appropriate that they be honored at this time; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby pay tribute to James Truman Taylor and Arlene 
Weyer Taylor on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and 
extend to them best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Taylor as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
