R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The year 2005 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School in Houston, and this singular milestone offers an ideal opportunity to reflect on this beloved institution's importance to the community; and WHEREAS, Since its founding, Roosevelt Elementary School has distinguished itself by promoting outstanding academic achievement, and its current students continue to benefit from the exceptional learning environment created for them by the school's dedicated teachers and administrators; and WHEREAS, Justly proud of Roosevelt's rich history, the school has also kept pace with the changing needs of the community it serves, and to that end it participates in the SPARK School Park Program, which allows school parks to double as city parks, thus filling an important need for families in the neighborhood; and WHEREAS, This public-spirited initiative is characteristic of the school's approach to enhancing its students' lives to the greatest extent possible, and as its friends and admirers look forward to the challenges and opportunities of the next 75 years, it is indeed fitting to pay tribute to Roosevelt's proud legacy and bright future; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School in Houston and extend to all those connected with the school sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Roosevelt Elementary School as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
