H.R. No. 2000
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the Tornillo Independent School District
Board of Trustees received overwhelming public support for a recent
school bond initiative, which was approved in an election on May 5,
2005; and
WHEREAS, The $4.4 million bond was passed to support the
construction of a new campus, and area residents will be able to
provide input on the location and grade levels served by the new
institution; and
WHEREAS, Those who were instrumental in the passage of this
important measure include the following board members: president
Leticia Trejo, vice president Joe F. Tittle, secretary Ofelia
Bosquez, and members Hector Luna, Carol Escarciga, and Silvia
Guerra; superintendent Paul Vranish also provided essential
leadership and support for the proposal; and
WHEREAS, Effective leaders such as those serving on the board
of Tornillo ISD help their community keep pace with today's
changing needs, while enhancing the quality of life enjoyed by
citizens throughout the community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the board members of the Tornillo
Independent School District on the success of the city's recent
bond election and commend them on their outstanding work in behalf
of area schoolchildren; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the school board trustees as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
